ZAP Light – 1 Million Volt Stun Device with Flashlight

I usually walk my dog a couple miles a day, both for her and for me to hopefully lose some weight. In our neighborhood there are a few dogs that get out and some are prone to targeting smaller dogs to attack. I had just this scenario happen to us one morning while walking. Just a few hundred feet from my home we encountered two large German Shepard size dog's. They both didn't pay much attention to me, but where focused on my Chihuahua/Jack Russell Terrier. When I saw they were looking at my dog I prepared the Hike and Strike just in case. The first dog showed some aggression and approached us and as it got close I pressed the Zap button which made the sound and showed the blue arc of electrical discharge. The first dog took off, the second didn't seem to worry about the sound and started moving rather quickly toward my dog. I let him get close enough that I was able to touch him and pushed the button. He let out a loud screech and turned around and headed the other direction. Needless to say the Hike and Strike prevented a possible fight between me and the dog's or my dog getting mauled. I'm 71 years old and not as agile nor strong as I once was. This awesome hiking/zapping stick gives me confidence to walk without worry from animals or humans wishing to do harm. My dog and I walk a mile every morning and it’s common for us to encounter dogs off-leash. If one appears threatening all I have to do is trigger a cracking sound with my Zap stick and the dog has so far always run away. I never walk without it.

Personally, I like the Zap Cane better. Quicker to use in stressful situation. However, the rechargeable battery fails after 7 or 8 years. Bummer. Got the Hike. OK but prefer the Zap Cane. Have friend looking at my cane to see if can replace rechargeable batteries. Wish me luck.

Right now it works as advertised and ecpected; but let's see if it still does after a month or 2. I've had 3 similar and they all stopped working within 5 months.

I feel much safer with my CANE. Easy to use and carry. 70 years old. Also have "Hike and Strike" but little more complicated for older person. Zapping noise scares strays away. Take with me in car on trips, also. Just in case.

While on a country road walk with my "new" Hike & Strike another dog came up behind me looking to attack me from behind. I turned and lit up my Hike & Strike but the light and sound didn't scare him, he just kept coming. So, he got jabbed in the face with the ZAP operating. The dog stopped and froze like a statue. I pulled back and backed away. The dog didn't want anymore of what I gave him, so he turned and walked back to his place.
This was no little dog; it was a fully grown blue-nose Pit-Bull.
And yes I almost pooped my pants, but my Hike & Strike prevented that embarrassment.

This is the second time I had the battery compartment cap "fall off" and lost the batteries as well as the cap! This time, unfortunately, the cap was damaged and the replacement cap didn't fit because the whole cap casing also fell out! While I love the Hiker, the taser function is now totally useless and I am out several dollars. I live in the mountains and, up to now, have depended on the Hiker on my daily walks. Sad.

It's great to get a few more of these , spares are always appropriate!
